About

Both sides of the invoice.

I have paid the agency, and I have been the agency. For years I sold strategy and product work to founders and executives through a practice called Now Labs. Then I became the client — co-founding a DTC brand and building it to $12M in sales with a tiny team and an army of agencies. Both seats taught me the same thing. The specialist layer is expensive, it is slow, and most brands at this stage simply cannot afford enough of it to matter.

That brand now runs on Figaro. Not as a demo. As the actual way the brand gets run — the media buyer, the marketplace manager, the bookkeeper, the morning briefing — each one a seat, each one gated, each one reporting to me. When I tell you what a seat did last week, it is because I watched it do the work and then checked whether it was lying to me. That check is not distrust of the machine. It is the whole discipline that lets one person run a company.

Figaro is real and it is dogfooded — built inside a working company, on live revenue, with every seat's work checked against the numbers. The guide teaches you to do this yourself. The field notes report what is actually working. That is the deal.

If you are living in million-dollar hell, the guide is the map out. Read it, argue with it, use what works. And if you want to watch the build in the open — the field notes go out the same way the work happens.
